Home Sweet Home

The closing day has come and gone and now there is nothing left to do but paint and more paint! We closed on March 4th. It's been and entire week we have almost completed painting one room. I know it doesn't seem like much but we still have jobs and its hard finding dayling to paint by. So here is the new house

Any Day Now...

Any day now we will be closing on our new house! We are both really excited but not too excited to start packing. I have yet to pack or purge any of our earthly belongings. I know I need to start soon but I am just not motivated. I've been way too busy putting together my decor/wish list book of all things new home related. It just seems so productive to get everything I want to do on paper instead of being physically productive. Chris and I took a field trip to Lowe's and picked out paint colors and I've been clipping pics of ideas and things I like from magazines. So far we have decided that we will paint our bedroom a calming yet bold green. The furniture is going to be black and I'm going to get crafty and make a upholstered headboard that is rather over sized and ridiculous. Next we are going to tackle the bathroom. It is going to get a nice coat of ocean blue to cover the existing orange color and eventually we would like to paint the cabinets a slate gray color and keep all the accents white. I found some great 1x1 tiles that include all those colors and it would be great if we could incorporate it somewhere. The upstairs hallway also needs a coat of paint. Its rather ugly the way it is it has a floral border and is white with pink sponge pattern quite country and old. After those couple tasks are taken care of we'll move in! We have high expectations for the rest of the house but I'm sure it will be a never ending endeavor. Once we get in the house I'll post some pics. Then as we accomplish our many tasks I'll post some before and afters!

inspections and appraisals and paper work oh my!

We are deep into the home buying process. Inspection check, radon check, insurance check. What else could there be? Well, we still need to survive the appraisal and termite inspection not to mention the endless stacks of paperwork. Thank God for Chris! He has been dealing with all the headache and paperwork. I can almost see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. What have I been doing while Chris is busy being responsible? Rudy and I have been spending many cold hours at the dog park. The closing date has been bumped up from March 15th to the first week of March. Now the big debate has been interior decor. We have much different ideas but I'm sure after some compromise we'll have a lovely home! I can't wait to start accessorizing...

Almost Home Owners

The day finally came, we found a house that meets all of our criteria. We made an offer and it was accepted!!! Rudog will now have a yard to run in and a bigger house to romp through. So, now we are just awaiting the closing date. March 15th is the big day. I can't wait to make Lawnview Drive our new home.

Introducing Rudy

Rudy aka Rudog is our 9 month old Lab mix puppy. He is a happy fun-loving pup that we saved from being a pound-pup . Recently he has had his share of health issues but he's on the straight path to good health now. Even in poor health he had big puppy eyes for his one and only Lilo. They have been in puppy love since first lick!

Blogging?!? Huh?

Ok here it is... my attempt at blogging. Thanks to my good friend Erinn and her blog I now want one of my very own. Thanks Erinn!
